Sir Julian Byng had a long and distinguished military career. He held senior commands in the Boer War and the Gallipoli campaign of 1915 before assuming command of the Canadian Corps in 1916, a posting he held until his promotion to army command in 1917. He would serve Canada again with distinction as Governor General from 1921 to 1926. Among many awards, honours, and decorations Lord Byng received, shown here are his campaign medals.
