The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Lapel Pin
$7.99
Canada repatriated the remains of an Unknown Soldier from France in May 2000 and laid them to rest at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. The idea originated as a millennium project of the Royal Canadian Legion and was coordinated through the government by Veterans Affairs Canada.
As 2015 marked fifteen years since the Unknown Soldier was laid to rest in the Tomb at the front of Canada’s National War Memorial, The Royal Canadian Legion has commissioned this Tomb of the Unknown Soldier commemorative pin to show the Legion’s support in commemorating this historical centenary period of Canadian history. The pin is a scaled-down version of the bronze work atop of the tomb, depicting a medieval sword, a First World War helmet, and branches of maple and laurel leaves.
