BAD LOOP MAXIMUM SPEED - SHAPR CURVE - EXCESSIVE STRAIN; GOOD LOOP MACHINE ENTERING LOOP MAXIMUM SPEED - EASY CURVE NO ESCESSIVE STRAIN ENGINE ALL OUT ENGINE OFF DIVING BUMP CAUSED BY BACK WASH ENGINE OPENED OUT; BAD LOOP MAXIMUM SPEED SHARP CURVE EXCESSIVE STRAIN; SUDDEN CHANGES IN DIRECTION AT VERY HIGH SPEEDS GIVE RISE TO EXCESSIVE AND POSSIBLY DANGEROUS STRAINS. IN FLATTENING OUT FROM A DIVE OR GOING INTO A LOOP AT HIGH SPEED THE STICK MUST NOT BE JERKED BACK BUT PULLED SLOWLY AT FIRST IN ORDER THAT THE CURVE MAY BE GRADUAL WHERE THE SPEED IS HIGH. Note: The extra stress, due to the curved path, is proportional to the square of the speed and inversely proportional to the radius of the curve. This diagram is the property of H.M.
