In the spring of 1942, Alex Colville joined the Army. Two years later, Second Lieutenant Colville was sent to England where he was informed that he had been made a war artist. Using sketches, drawings and paintings from the Canadian War Museum’s Beaverbrook Collection of War Art, the presentation will follow Colville’s journey as an official war artist beginning in Yorkshire in the spring of 1944, through the Mediterranean, into the Netherlands and finally, to Germany in 1945.
