In 1945, VE Day in Ottawa was marked with celebrations surrounding the end of the Second World War. In 2025, we will commemorate the 80th anniversary of that special day.
Join the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band, composed of 80 pipers and 20 drummers, as they play music up Wellington Street, from the Canadian War Museum to the National War Memorial.
The Museum will host a short ceremony in the Lobby at 1 pm to welcome performers, volunteers and guests. All are invited to follow the pipers as they depart at 2:30 pm to begin playing from their designated positions along Wellington Street at 3 pm. Pipers will play in one-minute intervals, ending at the National War Memorial, where a massed band performance at 5:30 pm will conclude the day.
Don’t miss this memorable performance.
Admission to the ceremony and performance is free. If you wish to visit the Museum galleries, please purchase your tickets here.
