Canon Frederick George Scott was chaplain to the 1st Division of the Canadian Corps. Scott, a poet of high standing in Canada, continued to publish war poems during and after the war. He was extremely popular among Canadian soldiers for his poetry, but also for his fearless nature. Scott frequently went into the front line trenches to be near the soldiers who needed him the most.
