This leaflet produced by the Red Cross Society of Ontario asks children to celebrate Empire Day by making a donation so that wool could be purchased to make socks for soldiers. "Who feels inclined to spend money in toy crackers, while our soldiers are lying wounded with shrapnel." The socks would be given in the name of Canada's children.
