Passport issued by the Governor General of Canada to George Henry Cairns and Elizabeth Doris Cairns for the purpose of attending the 1936 Vimy pilgrimage. In 1918, the Cairns lost two sons to the war. One, Sergeant Hugh Cairns of the 46th Battalion, had been posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for his valiant action at Valenciennes (1918).
