This French poster gives instructions to civilians in case Allied or enemy planes landed in an unauthorized area. To aid in aircraft recognition, both sides instituted standardized insignia. The Allied air forces displayed a roundel, three concentric circles of different colours for French, British, and Belgian aircraft. The German insignia was a black iron cross.
