Tickertape streams down on a Toronto street as a massive crowd celebrates the announcement of peace. There had been a false rumour of the end of the war on 8 November in Canada, but the real thing on 11 November was met with an outpouring of relief and joy. Artist Joseph Sampson also produced a number of wartime propaganda posters.
