This is the top of a box used during the 1920s or 1930s to sell poppies for Remembrance Day. It was created by Vetcraft, a Department of Soldiers Civil Re-establishment initiative to encourage wounded veterans to produce products for sale. A veteran copied onto the box top a lithograph by Frank Brangwyn showing ruins and a field of red poppies. This print was found in 1994 behind a cabinet at a cottage. The box itself was not found.
