A portrait of Patrick John O'Kelly wearing the ribbon of his Victoria Cross over his left breast. O'Kelly, a member of the 52nd Canadian Infantry Battalion, was awarded the medal for his actions during the Battle of Passchendaele on 26 October 1917. O'Kelly was 22 years old when he earned the Victoria Cross.
