PBS – The Great War and the Shaping of the 20th Century
PBS provides extensive information on the conflict from an American point of view, in addition to lesson plans and recommended reading materials. Mainly text-based. Students seeking more in-depth information will enjoy the inclusion of analyses by well-known historians including Jay Winter and Paul Fussell.

World War I: Trenches on the Web
An American Web site full of information on the conflict, including timelines, photos, and recommended reading materials. Though a little confusing to navigate, this site contains extensive information of interest to younger and older students alike, including a glossary of slang (all of it appropriate for younger students), postcards, and song lyrics.

This Web site is hosted by Brigham Young University in Utah, and contains documents (primary and secondary) searchable by year, medium, and theme.
