Stitches in Time – Walk & Talk tours at the Canadian War Museum

 

Ottawa, Ontario, August 21, 2007 — The Canadian War Museum is offering one of its popular Walk & Talk expert tours in conjunction with the special exhibition Stitches in Time. Visitors will have an opportunity to tour the exhibition with Dr. Amber Lloydlangston, assistant historian at the War Museum.
 
About the exhibition:
 
Through 15 richly-coloured quilted artworks, textile artist Johnnene Maddison interprets the Second World War experiences of her mother and other women workers, providing a unique view of the complexity of life on the home front.
 
WHAT: Stitches in Time Walk & Talk tour with Dr. Amber Lloydlangston
WHEN: Tuesday, August 28 at 3 p.m. in English and 1 p.m. in French

 
All tours are free with admission, but are limited to 25 participants. Tickets are available at the Information Desk on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event.
 
Stitches in Time, organized by the Canadian War Museum in collaboration with Johnnene Maddison, will be on display in Ottawa until January 6, 2008. It runs concurrently with War Brides: Portraits of an Era, another contemporary art exhibition focusing on the experiences of women during the Second World War.
