Activities for everyone to enjoy
at the Canadian War Museum in January


Ottawa, Ontario, December 22, 2010 — Throughout the month of January, join us for activities all can enjoy at the Canadian War Museum.


The Mural
January 1, 2 and 3—10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
You are invited to come and add your creative touch to a mural that was created by Karole Marois, a war artist with the Canadian Forces Artists Program.

What do you “Sea”?
January 8–9, 15–16, 22–23 and 29–30—10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Be creative and have fun. In conjunction with two great exhibitions, The Navy: A Century in Art and A Brush with War, be inspired by the art and re-create it in mixed media.

Brush with War
January 20—6:30 p.m.
Discover the challenge and diversity of military art on a special guided tour with Dr. Laura Brandon, Historian, Art and War at the Canadian War Museum.
In conjunction with the exhibition A Brush with War.
Meet in the Lobby.


Sailor’s Night at the Pub
January 27—6 p.m.
What does a sailor do on pub night? Join us for a fun evening with a beer-tasting, “temporary” tattoos, pub food and music by The Lyon Street Celtic Band.

Valentines for Vets
January 29 and 30, February 5, 6, 12 and 13
10 a.m.—4 p.m.
Create a card and write a special message for a veteran. In partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada

While the exhibitions The Navy: A Century in Art and A Brush with Warare on display, the Museum is offering visitors the opportunity to learn more about some of the art through our Volunteer Interpretative program.
