Ottawa, Ontario, March 18, 2010 — Join us on Thursday, March 25 at the Canadian War Museum for a lecture on First World War camouflage and fashion by Ryerson University lecturer Dr. Alison Matthews David.
From sniper robes to the cloche hat, military technology and women’s dress have constantly borrowed from each other. The talk will explore the invention of camouflage clothing for military use during the First World War and its ramifications for women’s fashions in the early twentieth century.
