Last chance to see World Press Photo 2010 at the Canadian War Museum!

Ottawa, Ontario, August 25, 2010 — There are only a few days left to see World Press Photo in Ottawa.

The Canadian War Museum is the first of four Canadian venues on the international tour. The winning photographs are on display in the Museum’s Lobby until August 29.

The winning photos in the 2010 contest were selected by an international jury and assembled into a travelling display, which will be visited by more than 2 million people in more than 80 major cities around the world.

The World Press Photo 2010 exhibition is presented in co-operation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Ottawa. It is sponsored worldwide by Canon and TNT.

Established in the Netherlands in 1955, World Press Photo is a non-profit organization which encourages high professional standards in photojournalism and promotes a free and unrestricted exchange of information. It is best known for organizing the world’s largest and most prestigious annual press photography competition.

The Canadian War Museum is Canada’s national museum of military history. Its mission is to promote public understanding of Canada’s military history in its personal, national, and international dimensions.
