Over The Top
You reach for a hammer, slowly bring your arm up and then throw it towards the pesky vermin. The rat scurries away with an unpleasant squeak.
– “Another rat?” comments George.
– “Yeah, another rat” you reply.
– “That’s the tenth one this week. If this keeps up, we’ll beat last week’s record.”
– “In the meantime, how about a game of cards?” you ask.
George pulls out an old deck from his tunic pocket and begins to deal the frayed cards between the two of you while the terrible bombardment rages outside.
