Michael Skiba-Jarochovich was born in 1879 in Minsk, which was part of the Russian Empire at the time. It is not known when he immigrated to Canada.

A labourer, Skiba-Jarochovich enlisted in the 64th Canadian Infantry Battalion in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on 5 August 1915. He was later transferred to the 25th Canadian Infantry Battalion (Nova Scotia Rifles). On 20 September 1916, he died in No. 10 General Hospital, having been wounded in the left hip during the Battle of the Somme.

Michael Skiba-Jarochovich is buried in St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen, France.
