Community Activities and Road Closures

Please note the following street closures around the Canadian War Museum during the CN Cycle for CHEO on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

The Kichi Zībī Mīkan / Wellington Street will be closed from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Portage Bridge, as well as Booth Street from Albert to Wellington, will be closed in both directions from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Police will be stationed at various intersections and have been instructed to let visitors through to access the Museum.

Parking at the Museum will be accessible to cars but may be full. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to access the Museum without any significant delays during this period, as directed by Ottawa Police. We also encourage you to use public transit.

Please allow for extra time to get to the Museum as delays may be caused by the street closures. The Museum will remain open for its regular hours of operation.

May 11 to October 14, 2024

Please note the following street closure around the Canadian War Museum during the NCC Weekend Bikedays. The program will run from May 11 to October 14, 2024.

Both westbound lanes of the Kichi Zībī Mīkan, from Vimy Place to Carling Avenue, will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Police and volunteers will be stationed at intersections and have been instructed to let visitors through to access the Museum.

Parking at the Museum will be accessible to cars. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to access the Museum without any significant delays during this period. We also encourage you to use public transportation.
