The Navy in European Waters
The Royal Canadian Navy contributed to Allied operations in European waters, carrying out coastal patrols, convoy escort duty, and support operations in the waters around and near the United Kingdom. Canadian ships and naval personnel also participated in the D-Day landings in Normandy, the Arctic convoys to the Soviet Union, and operations in the Mediterranean.
